Nancy O'Dell's initial position in the broadcasting industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor in the morning and a reporter on WCBD TV. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reporting about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases led to an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in states authorities again releasing an even more strict directive on the cases. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the year Award for the entire South Carolina media. O'Dell was then employed by NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. Her current position as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of pre-show arrivals in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. The host of The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
